Visa to Tanzania and Kenya
It is transacted when arriving in the country. It costs 50$.
There are 2 kind of Visa, and both must be transacted online, before arriving in the country:
- Visa valid for 2 days: It costs 20$
- Visa valid for more than 2 days: It costs 50$
If you return to Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam, you have to pay 3.000 shillings.
If you return directly to an international destination, you have to pay 30$.

Equivalence: 2.200 Tanzanian shillings = 1 DOLLAR
Equivalence: 3.075 Tanzanian shillings = 1 POUND

Equivalence: 102 Kenyan shillings = 1 DOLLAR

Where to Exchange Currency: Currencies can be exchanges at Banks, authorized agents and exchange offices.
Credit cards are accepted in all the big hotels. We suggest you to verify with your Bank the possibility of using your card abroad.
You can also withdraw money from ATM with Visa Credit Card and MasterCard.
If you are bringing Euros: They will be exchanged to Shillings at Banks or at Exchange Offices. It’s recommended to bring some dollars to pay VISA.
If you are bringing Dollars: You must bring new notes, they must be subsequent the year 2.004, since previous notes are not accepted.
Yellow Fever vaccine is compulsory (expect if you arrive in Tanzania)
Antimalarial Medication: (Malarone)
Recommended Vaccines: Typhus, tetanus and hepatitis A.

WEATHER AND WHEN TO GO
It’s a destination with a tropical weather and about 27º of medium temperature. The central zones are warm and dry and the coastal areas are warm and wet.
At night it normally gets cool.
During the whole year you can enjoy of sighting of fauna and landscapes.
From June to October: Dry season, the weather is cooler and it’s the period with more possibility of carnivore sightings, often you can also see them hunting.
From November to February: The temperatures increase, but not excessively. There are less tourists and the landscape is greener. January and February is the breeding period.
From March to May: Rainy Season. Rains won’t damage your safari experience, since they are nocturnal and short. During this Season you can enjoy of landscapes greener and full of life, although some of the secondary highways will perhaps be inaccessible.
